IT Asset Management Solutions (ITAMS), one of the UK's longest
established, vendor independent, consulting and technology companies
specialising in IT Asset and Software Licence Management (SLM), today
announced its acquisition of Liken's Software Asset Management (SAM) and
IT Asset Management (ITAM) business. Liken will remain as a legal
entity, but will focus exclusively on other, non-ITAM/SAM, aspects of
its business, going forward under the directorship of James Rowlands.
Liken is a successful, specialised, managed service provider that helps
its clients build, integrate and maintain fully operational SAM and ITAM
solutions. The acquisition of this part of the business will enable
ITAMS to leverage Liken's high profile UK and international client-base
and Intellectual Property (IP), including the IT-AMMO software
recognition library, associated toolkits and code. It will also enhance
ITAMS' portfolio of end-to-end solutions for IT Asset Lifecycle
Management (ALM 360) and Enterprise Licence Management (ELM 360).
Hugh Skingley, joint managing director at Liken, joins the ITAMS team as
Managing Consultant on permanent staff. He will oversee the transfer
and be instrumental in driving new business opportunities from Liken's
existing clients.
"ITAMS' acquisition of Liken recognises the many years of hard work that
has been invested in building much needed IP to support inventory tools
and licence management services. The relationship ensures continuity to
existing clients and is a positive extension to ITAMS' portfolio of IT
consultancy services and technologies. We are keen to be part of a
larger team of individuals who understand the industry well and have a
common appetite for success."
Similar to the CRC acquisition in October 2011, the takeover of this
part of Liken's business is a welcome addition to ITAMS' maturing IP,
managed service portfolio and highly sought after team of experts. A
valuable development in ITAMS' rapid growth strategy.
"With our expansion plans on track, we have reached a pivotal point in
our history," comments Paul Sheehan Managing Partner at ITAMS.
"Liken's IP naturally complements our solid knowledge-base and further
enhances our technological and managed service capabilities. As more
organisations seek to improve their capabilities or outsource specialist
services, we aim to carve out a deeper market presence as the number
one choice for advisory, transition and on-going ITAM and SLM services."
As the transfer progresses, the immediate goal for ITAMS is to reach out
to users who have invested in tools such as Snow and Flexera, to help
them enhance data quality within their software recognition engines or
to replace with a more comprehensive but modular outsourced service.
